HSS bi-metal hole saws are used to cut holes of various size in a variety of materials. Hole saws are cylindrical cups with a serrated edge around the rim, designed to cut the hole and be driven by an arbor. The edge is made for cutting; that’s why it has teeth. The opposite end is designed to be driven by an arbor or drill chuck. The diameter of this hole saw is vary depending upon needs. It can cut holes up to 38mm deep in any material, as long as it isn’t harder than the material used in the hole saw itself (HSS M3 Bi-metal). This particular model comes with 4/6 variable teeth on each side. It is double blister-packed, so it will stay clean and will arrive in perfect condition. The HSS bi-metal hole saw is designed to cut holes in metal, wood or plastic. A hole saw is larger than a drill bit and must be driven by an arbor or drill chuck. The serrated edge of the hole saw is 4/6 variable teeth on one side, which makes it perfect for drilling into hard materials such as metals and woods of different densities, but not so good for softer materials like plastics. The material used in this hole saw is HSS Bi-metal. HSS stands for High Speed Steel, and M3 means that this steel has a maximum hardness of 58 HRC. Bi-Metal refers to the fact that the steel has both a hard and soft layer, with each layer being harder than the one beneath it. The top layer of HSS M3 Bi-metal is made from high speed steel with tungsten carbide cemented to it which gives it its extreme.
